Du-bar-bai-que

We had our first party barbie or Braii as most of the guests insisted on calling it. It rained like all good british barbies but was all good fun and a few shots of tequila in we were soon on the playstation karaoke.

Easy Tiger

We went to the Dubai Desert Classic Golf which was a good laugh, though the photo I found on the internet after suggests otherwise (check out the third one, I'm the bored looking one in the back). Seeing Tiger Woods jumping up and down shouting at the ball was fun. Typically again for a Dubai sporting event it rained.

Sharjah

We went to the next emirate along, Sharjah which was actually a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Kind of like Dubai but less glitzy and no booze.

dune bashing

We went on a day trip out on the dunes in the desert. This was the point I realised I am not a 'lifes a journey' person, I like a view and getting somewhere but bumping up and down a dune in our car is not my thing, especially if it gets damaged. The car kicking up all the sand here is the point that our bumper fell down!

Hi Ho Symonds

So I've been learning to horse ride, I was rubbish to begin with and 10 weeks in can now do a rising trot and light saddle and am about to learn to canter. Unfortunately, being the tallest peron there I don't get all the lovely little ponies to ride so I've had a number of furry companions on my lessons; Jolly Coconut ((in picture, lazy and stupid), Shadow (jittery) Bob ( bit mangy looking had no mane) and now have settled with Apache whos faster and generally more helpful.

Rugby Sevens

Swaff came to visit for the weekend and Kim came along as a (very big) surprise. We had a very fun day at the Dubai 7's Rugby watching Wales beat New Zealand drinking beer and cheering along. One wind swept bus journey on and we were in Double Decker to party on with a poor unsuspecting guy in tow who'd lost his mates.
